Inkling logo

Logo design for Inkling.Kyneton a collective group of artists, designers and makers slowly and passionately producing their work by hand.

With the logo I wanted to reflect the hand made nature of the work produced by the creative group - something imperfect and not too sharp edged or graphic. With a mix of ceramics, woven textiles, illustration, print making and surface pattern design, it was important to develop a motif that somehow represented all six creatives, capture the diverse work produced, or reflect the workshop environment.

The concepts were all hand drawn, with the chosen logo being simple hand written text with a playful mustard dot…..or is it an ink blob, ball of wool, drip of glaze, or a circle connecting the creatives in the group….
